Kazakhstan general info
Kazakhstan, officially the Republic of Kazakhstan, located mainly in Central Asia with the Ural River flowing through the west of the country. The ninth largest country in the world by land area, it is also the world's largest landlocked country; its territory of 2,724,900 km2 is equivalent to Western Europe. Moreover, lying on both sides of the Ural River makes Kazakhstan one of only two landlocked countries in the world located simultaneously on two continents.
Kazakhstan borders Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan as well as Turkmenistan and adjoins a large part of the Caspian Sea. Kazakhstan is a member of the Eurasian Patent Convention.
